Selection

Applications to the programme are selected and ranked according to a combined assessment of the following criteria:

  • Academic record (grades on courses in bachelor degree, and grade on bachelor thesis)
  • Statement of purpose

Instructions for the statement of purpose

The statement of purpose is used in the ranking of applications to Master of Science Programme in Strategic Communication. The statement of purpose should convince the selection committee that you have a clear commitment to the programme.

Initially, your statement of purpose should state your name, the title of your bachelor thesis, and the subject of your major, and the name of the University. If you have not written a bachelor thesis in your program you can highlight another degree project. If you are in your last year of studies and have not finished your thesis you can highlight a preliminary title of your thesis.

In addition, you also have the opportunity to highlight two themes:

1. The reason that you are applying for the programme

You can tell us why you've applied to the Master's Programme in Strategic communications, how the programme complements and deepens knowledge, skills and experiences from your bachelor's degree, and of course your personal goals with the programme.

2. Relevant practical experience

You are also able to cite previous work, voluntary work or placements relevant to strategic communication. Competence and skills in programs relevant to practical work tasks in the communications industry, e.g. in web publishing, graphic design and content management systems can be cited. Work experience, competence and skills should be verified with attached documentation e.g. CV and letter of recommendations, or reference letters etc. Please note that your statement of purpose must not exceed one page.

All documentation needs to be uploaded with your application. Find out more about how to send in or upload your documents at www.universityadmissions.se
