Applied Visual Communication

Are you interested in developing your Visual Graphic Design skills in relation to Strategic Communication? Do you want to develop your understanding of the importance of the design process and design methods for the visual outcome? Then this is the course for you?

The aim of the course is to provide the student with theoretical knowledge and practical skills within applied visual communication. The first part of the course deals with the design process and different design methods for developing a visual product as well as design software and their application in different platforms and media. In the second part the student is given the opportunity to create an individual project within applied visual communication. Within the frame of the course, the student will be given the opportunity to form the project description in relation to educational background and professional interests.

Regarding the requirement of 7.5 credits in Applied Visual Communication or Graphic Design or equivalent

A student should have read at least 7.5 credits of Visual Communication or Graphic Design providing students with basic knowledge of design theories and basic skills in applied software-based visual work (e.g. with InDesign, Photoshop). Students within the Bachelor Programme in Strategic Communication and Bachelor Programme in Strategic Communication and digital Media should have taken at least 7.5 credits in SKOC22/25 Communication Design in Digital Landscapes 15 credits, or should have a passing grade on one of the following courses: SKOA81 Communication Design 7.5 credits or SKDA26 Web Design 7.5 credits. Students within the Bachelor Programme in Fashion Studies should have a passing grade on MODA24 Basic Tools 2 - Communication Strategies 7.5 credits.

Exchange students to Lund University are welcome to apply to the course.
