Entry requirements and Selection Criteria

Admission to the Master’s Programme in Strategic Communication requires a Bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS) in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Economics and Management including 90 credits in Strategic Communication, Media and Communication Studies, Journalism, Organization Studies, Marketing or the equivalent.

We regularly accept students with majors in equivalent subjects such as Political Sciences, Human Resources, Sociology, Digital Culture, Service Management, Fashion Science, Rhetoric etc.

English language requirements

Most of Lund University’s programmes require English Level 6 (unless otherwise stated under "Entry requirements"). This is the equivalent of an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 90. There are several ways to prove your English language proficiency - check which proof is accepted at the University Admissions in Sweden website. All students must prove they meet English language requirements by the deadline, in order to be considered for admission.

Selection criteria

The applicant's estimated capacity to complete the programme is the major overall criterion for selection. Students who fulfil the specific eligibility requirements are selected according to previous study results (grades on courses and degree project in the BA degree), proficiency in English and a letter of intent.
