Why did you choose to study the Master’s programme in Strategic Communication at Lund University?
I graduated in Advertising and Public Relations at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, and I thought that this programme would be a good opportunity to further my education in a multidisciplinary theoretical background. Lund University benefits from a good position in worldwide rankings and Sweden as a country was given as a good practice example in many occasions during my Bachelor’s.
What is the best part of this programme and why?
I like the selection of the courses offered during the first year, I think it covers all aspects of communication and gives us an understanding of communication from a holistic approach.
In what way have your studies changed on how you look upon Communication?
I think there are two essential aspects that have enriched my perspective about Communication. First of all, the fact that our programme is formed by international students helped me to develop a multicultural approach of the field. Moreover, as part of the Master’s I got the opportunity to study abroad; I’m currently studying my third semester in UNC at Chapel Hill (USA), which has also given me another perspective of academy and Communication arena.
What are your future dreams?
I change my mind everyday, but right now I feel that I want to work at the Communications Department of an international institution such as the UN, International Amnesty, UNICEF, … But since I started studying and until literally two days ago, I wanted to become a strategic planner at an international advertising agency. We will see where I end up!
How is it to live and study in Sweden?
Living in Sweden is completely different than back home. Lund has very cool vibes, and I love the student life that surrounds the city: there’s always something going on! It has the perfect size and I love going around with my bike.
