Tourist cities tackling climate change – Lessons from Italy

Speakers:

Massimo Giovanardi, Associate professor, University of Bologna, Italy will talk and sing about sustainable tourism development in the Italian context on the basis of his cross-media project “Destinations: Songs for Place and Tourism Management”.

Monica Porzionato, Doctoral candidate at Lund University, Sweden, will talk about strategies for sustainable tourism in Venice – a city heavily affected by overtourism and climate change.

The talks are followed by a discussion on what these international examples can teach us about sustainable urban tourism development in Sweden with Cecilia Cassinger and Jan Henrik Nilsson, Associate Professors, Lund University, Sweden.
